Drama
The Drama Department offer a wide range of extra-curricular clubs and each year group has at least one dedicated drama club. Year 10 and 11 also use club time to work on their BTEC practical and written coursework in conjunction with their class teacher. There are also clubs open to selected year groups – including Shakespeare Festival, Youth Arts Festival and the Devising Box of Tricks project. There is also the whole school production which is open to Year 8 through to Year 13.
In addition to the weekly clubs, we offer additional workshops and opportunities which have most recently included skills based workshops for the Shakespeare Festival, Youth Arts showcase and KS4 students’ exam work.
There is also opportunity for students to experience trips to the theatre both locally and in London, not only to broaden their experience but also for the older students to review as part of their coursework. Most recently students have been to see ‘The Un Returning’ at The Theatre Royal, Stratford East and ‘The Oresteia’ by Splendid Productions who brought the production to us here at Boswells.
