Admissions
In order to gain entry into The Boswells Sixth Form all students must achieve a minimum of 40 points from their best 8 成品视频 subjects, including a minimum grade 4 in English Language and Maths. This is calculated by adding up their points on the new numerical scale 1-9. Students must achieve a miminum of grade 6 in any subject they wish to study at A level.
In Year 12 most students follow a course of four A levels. In Year 13 students are expected to continue with a minimum of three subjects.
We have put the A-Level and CTEC subjects into four blocks this year and your child will need to choose a minimum of 3 subjects but preferably 4 subjects to start their A-Level courses. I would strongly advise your child to choose 4 A-level subjects as this will allow them to ensure they have chosen the correct subjects to study for the next two years. They will be able to drop to 3 subjects from the October half-term if they choose to.
A minority of students will start on 5 subjects if they choose Further Mathematics as this comprises both Mathematics and Further Mathematics.
Students should choose 1 subject per block.
Students who want to study the CTEC pathway should choose this in every block when completing their application.

Applications can be made following the Sixth Form Open Evening in November. Upon receipt of the application form we will look carefully at the course selection and an interview with a member of Senior Leadership will be arranged to explore subject choice and give further advice. During the spring term of Year 11 we will send confirmation of places and details of the chosen subjects.

We also welcome applications from students attending other schools. Once an application has been received we will contact your existing school for a reference and a place will be offered following an interview.
