Year 11 BTEC Acting Exam 2020

Students have been working for only half a term on their performance pieces. Each group were given a different text and asked to adapt and interpret it into a short 20 minute performance. Students had previously been working on developing their voice, movement and characterisation skills which they then showcased in these performances. They have documented along the way their progress and directorial decisions and this culminated in a public performance to their peers and families on Monday the 27th January 2020.
The first group performed an extract from ‘Bouncers’ by John Godber; a comedic and exaggerated play that showed them multi-role and interact with the audience.
The second group performed an abridged version of Olwen Wymarks’ play; ’Find Me’ where they incorporated the element of multi-role from the original script as well as some Splendid theatre and Frantic assembly techniques to make the piece as creative and original as possible.
And the third and final group performed an adaptation of ‘Girls Like That’ written by Evan Placey where they incorporated physical Theatre techniques and song and dance.
A great evening of successful performances – well done all involved and best of luck moving on to your final exam component.
